Climate Audio Trail - HikeAndListen
In collaboration with the ETH Zurich and the Swiss Alpine-Club, myclimate is setting up a climate audio trail from Zermatt to the New Monte Rosa Hut in the canton Valais, one of the myclimate carbon offset projects. The climate audio trail inform about the impact of climate change as well as the innovative building techniques and energy-efficient technologies. A visit to these lofty heights is well worth your time.
What kind of traces is the climate change leaving on our Alps? Which (new) natural hazards are we facing? What does the future hold for us?
These and other questions are best answered directly at the scene of the changes, in the high mountain ranges.
Nine 5-minute audio sections inform about dwindling ages, the glaciers as climate archives, about melting ice and the effects of climate change on highly specialised plants and animals.
In addition, the New Monte Rosa Hut is a ground-breaking example of innovative and energy-efficient construction techniques. Seven brainteasers inside the New Monte Rosa Hut describe the use of solar thermal energy, the photovoltaic system or the design of the combined heat and power plant.
Apart from the experience of an impressive natural landscape, a visit to the New Monte Rosa Hut also offers an insight into one of our many carbon offset projects.
