Farnek Avireal, representative of myclimate for the Middle East and leading provider of solutions in the area of Facility Management founded a Green Team. The idea behind this platform, created mainly for employees, partners and clients, is first and foremost to make environmental protection and sustainability a part of work life.

Within this framework, various projects have already been realised, such as the creation of the first carbon neutral nursery in United Arab Emirates, the introduction of car pooling to promote the sharing of cars by different staff or the participation at the “Earth Hour City Challenge”. Farnek Avireal green team participated in the Earth hour conducted by Dubai Water and Electricity Authority and the lights of the U-Bora Towers in Dubai were switched off for an hour. Not an easy task, according to Tareq Parvez, Facility Manager of the U-Bora Towers: “We had to switch off all the lights manually, every person was assigned a task to switch off 2 or 3 floors of a total of 60 floors of this beautiful and magnificent Tower in Dubai.”

Markus Oberlin, General Manager of Farnek Avireal emphasizes: “It is a win-win situation: Farnek Avireals engaged employees can build project management, communications and leadership skills by planning their eco-friendly campaigns.”  Ms Sabrina Kim Managing Director of H&S said that U bora Tower benefits from lower energy bills and less waste management emphasizing the commitment to CSR.
