Listen to smacking bacteria at Göscheneralp

myclimate has realized together with „Wasserwelten Göschenen“ and the Competence Center Environment and Sustainability of the ETH Domain (CCES) a new Audio Adventure. The trail goes around the Göscheneralpsee until the end of the Damma glacier. The new myclimate Audio Adventure conveys what 45 researchers have found in recent years.

It was the aim of the ETH and the CCES to make the results of many years of research about the Damma glacier on the Göscheneralp accessible to a wider audience and the myclimate Audio Adventure is a great vehicle for that. ETH Zurich Professor Gerhard Furrer appreciates working with myclimate: "Our department offsets the business flight emissions with myclimate and we know how effective the organization raises awareness on climate change. I am very pleased with the result of our collabouration."

Visitors can borrow the audio guide and the flyer at the «Kiosk Restaurant Dammagletscher» free of charge. Also, the stories can be downloaded from the website in advance. The route goes from the dam of the reservoir up through mountain streams to the barren slopes to the Damma glacier and on an impressive moraine and finally through peat bogs back to the starting point.

The myclimate Audio Adventure Göscheneralp is designed for all ages, it contains a children and an adult story. Children listen to "Smacking bacteria", while their parents approach the nature in a more scientific way.

The myclimate Audio Adventure Göscheneralp is now open to public. It is the seventh of its kind in Switzerland. After the debut in 2010 in Zermatt and further openings in Goms, Zurich-North and St. Gallen, two more were inaugurated in 2013: in Scuol during the UN's World Water Week in March and in Winterthur in April.
