Health impacts
It is foreseen that climate change will negatively affect people's health, particularly that of people with low adaptive capacity.
The IPCC estimates that malnourishment will increase as a result of climate change. This has consequences for the growth and development of children. It is also expected that climate change will affect changes in the geographical spread of disease. In Central Europe increased mortality is mainly expected during summer heat waves.
