125 projects, 12 nominees, 1 audience award, 3 cars to win – Climate Laboratory 2014

30. April 2014

This year, the Climate Laboratory has seen a record number of submissions. Externals also have a vote and could be in with the chance of winning a month-long test drive in an electric car.

The climate laboratory is the longest running education project of myclimate targeting trainees and encouraging them to explore and realise potential energy savings within their own firms, at school and in day-to-day life.

125 corporate climate protection projects were submitted to the Climate Laboratory in 2013/2014. Although now in its seventh year, making it myclimate’s longest-running education project, the Climate Laboratory is showing no signs of slowing down. 125 projects amount to a 40% increase over the previous (record-breaking) year. The Climate Laboratory expert jury has now nominated the 12 best carbon offset or energy efficiency projects. 2014 is an opportunity for all interested parties to vote for the 13th ever winner. Registration to vote for the audience prize is now open.

The Climate Laboratory aims to develop environmental knowledge and to blend commitment with technical expertise, a spirit of innovation and design skills. This education programme targets trainees and encourages them to explore and realise potential energy savings within their own firms, at school and in day-to-day life. They are asked to come up with products and projects that reduce CO2, promote energy efficiency or inspire others to take action against climate change.

125 projects had been submitted by March 2014. Of these, the highly qualified jury selected 12 outstanding projects in four categories: Energy, Innovation, Planning and Sensitisation. All nominees will receive thrilling prizes at an awards ceremony on Wednesday 4 June in Zurich-Altstetten. One winning team will be announced in each category. Part of the award ceremony is also a visit at the SBB Energiezug.

The audience also has another chance to vote for their favourites in 2014. Votes can be submitted online for two weeks starting on 30 April. As a thank you, all participating voters are in with the chance of winning a month-long test drive with an Opel Ampera.
