Christmas comes sooner than you think

13. October 2014

In 2014, myclimate is again offering the chance to give the gift of climate protection for Christmas as well as on other occasions. The focus this year is our reforestation project in Nicaragua, and fittingly there is also a brand-new film.

Climate Protection as a Gift

Even though Christmas still seems far away to many people, myclimate is already presenting its “Climate Protection as a Gift” programme. These special gifts are primarily aimed at companies and institutions but may also serve as inspiration for individuals.

myclimate has kicked things off and surprised its customers and friends with an early but special item of Christmas post. In their name, myclimate is supporting farming families in Nicaragua in reforesting their land in a sustainable manner. An entire forest with several thousand trees will be planted. In just ten years, these trees will hold more than 500 tonnes of CO2. Seedlings are already being planted.

With their early Christmas post, the myclimate partners also received a card expressing personal thanks from a farmer from San Juan de Limay. This card was printed specially in Nicaragua – climate-neutrally, of course.

Find out about the project and the opportunity to give the gift of climate protection. The website also contains our brand-new film, which illuminates all aspects of the project. This film was specially created for myclimate by project partner Taking Root. Interested parties will also find additional gift inspiration on the site, including biogas plants in India and efficient cookers in Kenya and Madagascar.
