myclimate sensitising teachers at workshop in Dubai

On 28 March, the Emirates Environmental Group (EGG) conducted its 12th Annual Teachers’ Workshop in Dubai under the motto “Sustaining our Future in Harmony with Nature”. In her opening speech, EEG Chairperson and member of the myclimate Patronage Committee, Habiba Al Marashi, said: “As teachers, you are the frontline stewards of this planet and it is incumbent upon you to provide our students with the necessary skills to make informed decisions and take responsible action for the benefit of our environment.”

The workshop was led by Julia Hofstetter, Head of Department Climate Education of myclimate. She initiated an inspiring discussion on the subject of “My Climate, My Responsibility”. In that discussion, she presented the backgrounds of the myclimate policies “avoid-reduce-offset” and “do the best and offset the rest”. She also pointed out the various climate education projects of myclimate worldwide on the subject of climate change. Furthermore, she urged the attending teachers to increasingly emphasise on climate change in classes and thereby strengthen the climate awareness of children and adolescents.
