Making sustainability work: Youth Encounter on Sustainability YES are unique hands-on impact labs for students and young professionals from all fields and countries. YES is dedicated to build global partnerships of change agents and institutions, and to leave a local impact behind.

In intensive two-week impact labs, students, graduates and experts from practice and academia develop answers to sustainability challenges. The challenges are pitched by local YES partners (universities, companies, organizations). 25-35 participants from all fields and countries get together, craft solutions and propose projects in a transdisciplinary, transcultural, and practice-oriented setting. The program is conducted in English. 2-4 annual YES labs are realized on different continents.
YES participants are graduate students or young professionals engaged in industries, businesses, professional associations, think-tanks, public administrations, academic institutions, international organizations, and NGO. They are between 21 and 34 years old, show a high dedication to sustainability, and apply with CV, motivation letter, recommendation letter and a pitch of an own project idea.
1500 professionals from 140 countries have taken part in a YES course since their launch in the year 2000 by the Alliance for Global Sustainability (ETH Zürich, MIT Boston, University of Tokyo, Chalmers University Gothenburg). After YES, 38% of the 1500 YES alumni have established programs and organizations dealing with sustainable development, climate change, agriculture, community services, and education. 43% of the YES Alumni are in leadership positions (YES alumni survey 2012). Facilitated by YES, universities like ETH Zürich, University of Bratislava or HOSEI Japan have realized joint projects with other universities or businesses, kicked off sustainable activities on and off campus, and implemented learning and teaching on sustainability in their academic programs.
YES is operated by myclimate, together with strong company, university and institutional partners worldwide (accredited by UNEP).
YES partners achieve sustainable, local development and scalable, lasting impact through supporting the YES courses, participants with YES scholarships, and funding YES projects. They are able to create attractive success stories of hands-on sustainability projects worldwide, to position themselves as sustainable first-mover in key markets and topics, to access talents and gain reputation as attractive, future-oriented employer, and to build know-how to in local case studies and innovative staff trainings.
