CDP Rankings 2017 – myclimate Helps Partners Achieve Outstanding Results

myclimate has advised and supported partner companies with their submissions to the annual CDP ranking process for years. This cooperation in calculating and reporting CO₂ emissions has once again demonstrably paid off for companies in 2017. Two myclimate clients were able to achieve the highest possible score with an 'A' ranking.

The announcement of the <link www.cdp.net - external-link "Opens external link in current window">CDP</link> rankings is an important moment for many companies involved in climate protection. The same goes for myclimate, which assists various partner companies in this process with software support and expert advice. The CDP rankings for 2017 were published at the end of October.

As in previous years, myclimate partner <link www.swisscom.ch/en/about/company/sustainability/climate-protection.html - external-link "Opens external link in current window">Swisscom</link> is among the 112 companies worldwide that received an <link www.cdp.net/en/scores-2017 - external-link "Opens external link in current window">'A' rating</link> in the climate category. Swisscom collected and evaluated the necessary data using the performance software myclimate smart 3. Another long-term myclimate partner can also be found alongside Swisscom in this exclusive list.*

In 2017, myclimate Partner <link group.emmi.com/de/unser-engagement/nachhaltigkeit/ - external-link "Opens external link in current window">Emmi</link> decided to undergo an CDP evaluation for the first time, in consultation with myclimate. The minimum target originally set was even exceeded: Emmi was awarded a 'B' by CDP, the second highest rating.

The Learning Curve: a Welcome Additional Benefit

"As a company, you run the risk of losing yourself in the questions posed by CDP. For this reason, the support of myclimate was very valuable for us. They helped us to prepare our submission with an excellent, lean and efficient process. As always in the case of ratings like this, the learning curve which the company goes through is a welcome additional benefit. The areas of activity become visible", summarises Gerold Schatt, Head of Sustainability at Emmi Schweiz AG.

"What we bring to our partners is twofold: firstly, we help with creating the report, and analyse the existing data in terms of completeness and potential improvements. Alongside this, we give targeted advice on how to complement existing measures. We want to support our partners, so that their ambitious commitment to climate protection is also reflected in the CDP rankings. The results for 2017 have confirmed that we are on the right track", said Daniel Kammerer, Head of Consulting and Solutions at myclimate.

CDP has been providing pioneering work for 15 years in creating a global system of reporting that helps companies deliver environmental and climate-related information to investors and other stakeholders. During this time, international, and for the most part publicly listed companies have been publishing their climate-change-related data with CDP. myclimate offers companies tailored solutions for submitting a report that meets CDP standards and for continually improving their position in the rankings.
