New offsetting portfolio for climate-neutral printed matter

Starting in 2013, printers will have the option to offset climate-neutral printed matter for their customers in a customised print portfolio. It includes a Swiss biogas project and a project in Brazil that uses FSC wood waste to generate electricity.

Since 2008, myclimate has been offering Swiss printers the option to either make the entire printing works climate-neutral or to offer their customers <link ch.myclimate.org/en/carbon-management-services/programs/printing-industry.html>climate-neutral printed matter</link>. <link ch.myclimate.org/en/network/partners-and-clients/myclimate-map.html>70 companies</link> are already making use of this option and the number is on the rise. The printers <link www.cavelti.ch/index.php>Cavelti AG</link> (Gossau), <link www.allprint.ch/index.html>allprint ag</link> (Wattwil) and <link www.abaecherli.ch/oekologie/klimaneutrales-drucken.html>Abächerli Druck AG</link> (Sarnen) recently joined this printing industry solution.

Starting in 2013, printers will have the option to offset climate-neutral printed matter for their customers in a customised print portfolio. This comprises one project in Switzerland and one in Brazil. Energy and heat will be generated in Switzerland through the construction of two agricultural biogas plants, while at the same time cutting methane emissions. The project in Brazil's Amazon region will see FSC wood waste used to generate electricity, replacing climate-damaging diesel generators.
