Project monitoring in the Andes

Alain Schilli, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, visited the climate change programme Qori Q'oncha in Peru. This project fosters the implementation and usage of energy efficient stoves. The aim was to get involved and have discussions with all project partners involved, responsible for implementation, quality assurance and monitoring. During his visit of the organisation <link www.myproworld.org/locations/peru.htm - external-link-new-window>Pro World</link>, Alain had the opportunity to gain in depth insights on their system of monitoring and quality assurance.

Additionally, discussions with his peers of the organisation <link www.sembrando.org.pe/html/ingles/QSomos.html - external-link-new-window>Sembrando</link> were very constructive and informative. In the last two years, 29,000 locally produced and efficient stoves were installed in remotes households and could be enrolled successfully in the programme. Thanks to the CO₂ compensation funds from myclimate, the organisation is planning the construction of up to 100,000 additional efficient stoves with chimney in the up-coming years. The project implementation includes social programs and knowledge campaigns.
