Within its Christmas campaign, myclimate donated a deed of gift for an efficient cooker of the Swiss-Madagascan organization ADES (Association pour le Développement de l’Energy Solaire) to each of its 200 major customers. ADES, who is implementing the myclimate climate protection project in Madagascar, then distributed those efficient cookers in two slums in Madagascar (Ampahnihy and Ejdea) for only 2000 Ariary (roughly the same as one Swiss Franc). Corresponding to the experience of local operating ADES-employees, this campaign had an important symbolic value and was like a glimmer of hope for the residents. The people living in the south noticed that they are not completely forgotten and that there is a promising perspective to stop the quickly advancing deforestation of their dry forest. The attendance of all important local authorities during the distribution campaign demonstrated its importance for the local community.
