Carbon Footprint for Turkish hazelnut producer NOOR Findik

Climate protection is of high importance for the Turkish hazelnut producer and processor NOOR Findik San. Ve Tic. Ltd: Together with the Carbon Management Services Department of myclimate, the company has calculated for the first time the carbon footprint of the hazelnut crop in 2011.

In the first quarter, nearly 1100 t CO2 emissions resulted from the production and procession of hazelnut at Noor Findik.. In the second quarter 2011, this figure was a little higher with approximately 1200 t CO2e; about two third of these emissions incurred at the plantations, only one third during the procession.

Additionally to the calculation of its carbon footprint, Noor Findik has started trainings on the subject of climate change and is engaged in several sustainability projects.
