Nsikan-George is a member of the African-German Network of Excellence in Science (AGNES), a member of the Hessen Frauen mit Format in Wissenschaft und Wirtschaft and a member of Frankfurter Geographische Gesellschaft e.V. where she voluntarily supports the advancement of science in applied environmental solutions. Nsikan-George Emana is an Alexander von Humboldt Scholar.

Career path
After his studies, Martin worked for several years in medical technology, most recently as a development engineer at the hearing aid company Phonak. In 2008, Martin joined myclimate, where he spent the first few years as a project manager for international projects in South America and completed a part-time MAS qualification in environment and management. Since 2013, Martin and his team have focused on expanding the domestic carbon offset projects at myclimate.

Motivation for climate protection
With our climate protection projects, we try to counteract the major problems of climate change, biodiversity loss, energy dependency and social inequality and to highlight solutions. That motivates me a lot.

Ian has founded a solidarity vegetable cooperative in the city of Zurich and runs it on a voluntary basis together with a dedicated group.

Career path
Kristina studied landscape architecture at MENDELU Brno and completed her doctorate at the Institute of Landscape Architecture at the Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg. She then developed renewable energy projects in the Czech Republic for the OSTWIND Group. During her parental leave, she co-founded a family guesthouse where she implemented ideas for sustainable tourism. At the same time, she developed research project concepts at the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart. Since April 2023, she has been working as a project manager for climate protection projects in Vienna.

Motivation for climate protection
I appreciate the value of nature and the environment. As a mother of four children, future life in a healthy environment is important to me.

Career path
Franziska studied international relations at the TU Dresden before completing a master's degree in environmental science at Lund University in Sweden. After the postgraduate programme at the German Development Institute, Franziska worked for three years at KfW Development Bank in the Resource Conservation Team Asia and joined myclimate in 2009. At myclimate, she managed the carbon offset project area for 10 years and has been building up bilateral carbon offset since 2022.

Motivation for climate protection
Franziska loves our planet and wants to preserve it. It's our responsibility to protect the climate and our generation matters.

In private
Franziska loves to be out and about in the mountains, often on skis, bikes or on foot - usually with her family or even whole groups as a leader.

Tobias has many years of experience in the development and certification of climate protection projects and has in-depth knowledge of international CO2 standards, the global CO2 market and a wide range of project types and technologies.

Career path
After studying geography and general ecology with a focus on sustainable development and resource use, Tobias worked as a research assistant at the Centre for Development and Environment (CDE) at the University of Bern and completed an internship at WWF Switzerland before joining myclimate as a project manager in 2008. Since 2021, Tobias has led the team for client-specific carbon offset projects at myclimate.

Motivation for climate protection
Seeing how we contribute concretely to sustainable development with our climate protection projects, i.e. to improving living conditions, clean drinking water, better air quality, intact ecosystems, etc., motivates me anew every day.

In private

Kai has a degree in ancient history (with minors in mediaeval studies and sports science) from Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. After spending a decade of his career at Nike, Kai joined myclimate in 2013, working as Head of Marketing and Communications until the summer of 2022. After a ten-month sabbatical, he has been representing the MarCom team as Director Corporate Marketing on the Management Committee since June.

Motivation for climate protection
“The fight against climate change is absolutely essential, but it’s also difficult to explain. I see it as my responsibility to motivate and inspire people to take tangible action.”

In private
Kai has always been a football enthusiast. He is a keen player (albeit an increasingly questionable one on account of his age) in the Zurich alternative league, youth club trainer and passionate fan who is always happy to share his knowledge on the subject – even when nobody has asked. When not kicking a ball around, the lover of convoluted sentences enjoys spending time with his family, cycling (as his main means of transport and as a sport), doing other sports, reading a good book and discussing politics.
