For the 63th time, the <link www.pardolive.ch - external-link "Opens external link in current window">Locarno Film Festival</link> takes place from august 4th to 14th. It is obvious that major events like the Film Festival have an impact on the environment, but the organisers seek to minimise them. “The Locarno Film Festival tries hard to keep environmental impacts as low as possible. We have great ambitions and now take first steps to reach their goal. The first step for us is the compensation of all our emissions with myclimate. With myclimate we found a partner who guarantees that the compensation takes place only in high quality projects ” explains Marco Cacciamognaga, director of the Locarno Film Festival.
All emissions generated throughout the festival as well as the preparation are offset in a climate protection project of the non-profit foundation myclimate.
