myclimate CEO René Estermann not only attended the UN Climate Conference in Durban, but also took the chance to visit the myclimate climate protection project in Letaba together with the Norwegian myclimate representative. In the North East of the country one of the biggest juice producers of South Africa switches from coal to biomass for steam generation. The first phase of the project is already finished: One of the stoves already uses sawdust instead of coal to dry 15'000 tonnes of orange zest, which is then used as fodder. This already leads to a reduction of several thousands of tonnes of CO2 emissions each year.
