This offer, which is being financed by the City of Zurich and is free for SMEs, is geared towards companies that had no possibility to look into sustainability in the past due to their own capacities. What’s more, it is precisely these kinds of companies that contain a lot of potential for structuring themselves in a more ecological and economically sustainable manner.
The offer includes a simple, onsite consultation, which is geared towards the existing infrastructure and individual processes of the company. Based on this consultation, proposals for cost-efficient, simple and immediate measures are agreed on with the SME. A clear report is provided at the end, which highlights optimisation potential in the respective company. The Öko-Kompass therefore provides access to a more sustainable future, which is aligned with the needs of SMEs.
myclimate will handle the administrative and operative functions on behalf of UGZ. myclimate sustainability experts provide interested SMEs with thought-provoking impulses.
“Small measures in particular can have a significant impact. Cost reductions, increases in efficiency, higher satisfaction in the team and a positive impact on the environment are strong arguments for any company, irrespective of their size”, says Daniel Kammerer, Head of Department Consulting and Solutions at myclimate. He continues: “We are very happy that UGZ as a Zurich-based organisation has entrusted us with this mandate. We hope that with the help of the Öko-Kompass, we will be able to do even more to strengthen the economy and increase the quality of life in Zurich.”
The provision of advice to SMEs in all areas of environmental protection and sustainability represents an important contribution towards an ecologically-, economically- and socially sustainable city. The advice promotes specific implementation steps, but also sensitises companies towards the objectives of a 2000 Watt society. The Öko-Kompass consultations for SMEs were introduced by the UGZ Zurich in 2009.
