Europe’s first climate-neutral IT provider is based in Tübingen

As well as offsetting its emissions, IT specialist transtec is planning to significantly alter its business activities with the aim of cutting emissions overall.

IT specialist transtec is Europe’s first climate-neutral IT provider. Its CEO Hans-Jürgen Bahde believes that the certificate marks the start of more sustainable business operations: "In the next few years we plan to make significant changes to reduce CO₂ emissions, and will document the results every year in our annual report." To celebrate the actual handover of the certificate, transtec’s Tübingen headquarters played host to an event under the heading of "Energy Turnaround and Climate Change", where Boris Palmer, mayor of Tübingen, emphasised the responsibility of medium-sized companies to deliver greater sustainability.
