Locarno Film Festival and myclimate – an Established Partnership

Locarno Film Festival is one of the most important film festivals on Swiss soil, bringing a first-rate film programme with many premieres as well as international film celebrities to Ticino every year. Along with the cinema, however, there is also a focus on the environment, so the festival organisers decided to work together with myclimate.

The partnership between the Locarno Film Festival and myclimate is well established, as they have been working closely together since 2010. True to the myclimate motto «Do your best and compensate for the rest», the festival organisers take many measures in their effort to keep their carbon footprint as small as possible. These include promotion of local and national public transport, a decision to focus on green electricity, and cooperation with an eBike provider. The remaining emissions, which are produced during the event in Locarno and the preparations for it, are compensated in a myclimate climate protection project.

Minimizing our environmental impact is very important to us. We are proud of our collaboration with myclimate, which began in 2010 and enabled us to actively deal with issues of environmental protection, with the aim of guaranteeing energy and resource efficiency at the Locarno Festival.
