Cheese producer Hochland starts with the Company Challenge from myclimate

With the Company Challenge, Hochland has launched an initiative in cooperation with the climate protection organisation myclimate that combines employee development and sustainability in its own company. Trainees and students develop projects that save energy, promote energy efficiency, sensitise employees or otherwise contribute to saving greenhouse gases.

Today's trainees at Hochland are the skilled workers and managers of the future. Hochland is committed to supporting and promoting them on their development path. In the project at Hochland, around 45 trainees and students from the Heimenkirch and Schongau locations develop sustainability projects in small groups on the topics of energy, mobility/logistics and resources. They then implement these in the company. The commitment to the trainees will pay off - for Hochland as a company, the trainees themselves and also for a sustainable German economy. "It is great that Hochland, a renowned company, is leading the way in this," says Stefan Baumeister, Managing Director of myclimate Germany.

The competition was launched at the end of October. During two intensive, digital workshop days, knowledge about sustainability and climate protection was refreshed. Interactive methods helped to find and develop sustainability projects. The participants were interested and motivated and have already come up with great project ideas. Shortly before the Christmas break, the ten teams will present their current project status to the myclimate education team and the highland sustainability team, and can then get involved in the implementation with valuable feedback.
A jury will evaluate the projects at the beginning of April 2021. The most creative and effective will receive special recognition and the winning team will receive great prizes. At the same time, all Highland staff will be able to vote on the projects and award an audience prize.
