Dyson – energy efficient hand dryers

Cold air, hot air, paper or fabric towels? There are a few ways to dry your hands. But which way is best from a climate protection standpoint? Our team of experts has figured it out, and it confirms the product philosophy of Dyson Ltd.

Technology company Dyson has a variety of models of cold-air hand driers in its range, which offer different advantages. What is new with the Dyson Airblade Wash+Dry hand drier is that it is now possible to wash and dry your hands more quietly at the wash basin itself, so this model can also be used in noise-sensitive areas. This extremely space-saving model offers environmentally friendly, hygienic hand drying and is even suitable for use in the food industry. The Dyson Airblade V hand drier is also very compact and has been certified with the "Quiet Mark". This model can be mounted on the wall very quickly and easily.

The myclimate Balance Sheet shows that all models basically have the same key advantages. A cold stream of air flowing at 690 km/h dries hands within 10 to 14 seconds. Compared to conventional hand dryers, the Airblade technology consumes up to 73 per cent less energy when used. The Airblade technology has about one-third less impact on the climate than drying one's hands with two pieces of recycled paper towel. The Airblade technology beats both conventional warm-air hand dryers and fabric towels with a climate balance that is more than two and a half times better.
