Integrate active climate protection into your company, your product, your service or your event and communicate your climate protection commitment credibly and transparently. With the myclimate label, we combine responsible action with marketing and science with profitability. For active positioning with the inclusion of innovative climate protection in your business activities.
Credible communication of your climate protection contribution:
The impact label confirms that your company financially supports climate protection projects - in the amount of the calculated emissions from your corporate carbon footprint (CCF) - and therefore takes responsibility for the emissions caused.
Maximum transparency thanks to individual tracking number:
Each label contains a unique tracking number that makes it possible to trace which projects are supported and how high the financed emission reductions are.
Customisable for different areas of the company:
Whether for your entire company, specific products, services or events - the impact label can be used flexibly.
Support for high-quality climate protection projects:
Your contributions are channelled into verified myclimate climate protection projects that demonstrably reduce emissions and contribute to sustainable development.
To receive the myclimate impact label "Wirkt. Sustainable" label, your company goes through a structured process:
Firstly, you create a CO₂ balance sheet by determining the relevant emissions of your company, product or event. This can be done either as a Corporate Carbon Footprint (CCF) for your company as a whole or as a Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) for specific products or services.
The climate protection contribution based on the balanced emissions is invested in high-quality myclimate projects worldwide that fulfil the highest standards (Gold Standard, Plan Vivo, VCS (including CBB or SD VISta)).
Calculating a CO₂ balance sheet at company level (corporate carbon footprint) is a key component of corporate climate protection. In a company's carbon footprint, all relevant greenhouse gas emissions are recorded, calculated and reported. It takes into account directly generated emissions in the company's own facilities (Scope 1), emissions from purchased energy, e.g. electricity, district heating (Scope 2), as well as indirect emissions, e.g. from business travel and the use of materials (Scope 3).
The myclimate impact label is awarded for the following variant:
Calculating the carbon footprint is an important step towards greater climate protection. For events, this means that all relevant greenhouse gas emissions are recorded and made transparent. This includes emissions from infrastructure such as electricity consumption, heating and cooling, as well as the participants' travel, catering and accommodation. Material-related emissions and waste during the event are also taken into account in order to create a complete carbon footprint.
The first step is to calculate the CO₂ emissions generated by the product or service (CO₂ balance sheet, product carbon footprint). This involves analysing a product or service from the cradle to the grave, i.e. all raw materials, transport, production processes and the use and disposal of a product are considered.
By contributing to myclimate climate protection projects in the amount of all relevant CO₂ emissions, your product or service receives the myclimate impact label. With the help of the tracking number integrated in the myclimate label, you can see online at any time which myclimate carbon offset project is being supported.
To achieve the Paris climate targets, the private sector is more important than ever. The myclimate impact label "Wirkt. Sustainable" (in short: impact label) recognises companies that proactively and voluntarily support climate protection by financing climate protection measures. In addition to reducing their own emissions, this is an important component of a climate strategy towards net zero. In this way, a company gains experience in pricing in the costs of remaining CO₂ emissions.
