It is based on the myclimate Impact Label, but extends it to include the myclimate certification system required for the EU, independent third-party certification, and the specific statement "CO₂ calculated – Carbon projects funded". Calculating a corporate carbon footprint is a key component of corporate climate protection. A company’s carbon footprint involves recording, calculating and reporting all relevant greenhouse gas emissions. This takes into account emissions generated directly at the company’s own sites (Scope 1), emissions from purchased energy, e.g. electricity and district heating (Scope 2), as well as indirect emissions, e.g. from business travel and the use of materials (Scope 3).
