Free CO₂ calculator for companies

The myclimate company calculator offers small and medium-sized companies in particular a free, low-threshold and practical way to determine the direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions of their business activities. The aim is to create a carbon footprint that is as complete and realistic as possible - as a basis for effective climate protection measures.

If you wish, you can make a voluntary climate contribution based on the calculated emissions and thus support a high-quality myclimate climate protection project. In this way, you strengthen global solutions with social added value and at the same time promote the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

What is calculated with the myclimate company calculator?

In the current version of the company calculator, in addition to the energy consumption of buildings, you can also record other relevant sources of emissions such as commuting and business travel, purchased consumables, catering in the company and the amount of waste produced.

Country-specific differences - for example in the electricity mix, the use of public transport or the composition of district heating purchases - are taken into account. The underlying calculation principles were developed by our experts on the basis of the latest scientific findings. The estimation logic and emission factors have also been revised accordingly and expanded to include additional selection options.

CO₂ calculation via API: Integrate the myclimate calculator directly into your website

The myclimate API enables you to record internal emissions such as business flights, car journeys and company events in a structured manner and transfer them directly to your carbon footprint. In addition to these use cases, interfaces are also available for cruises, company balance sheets and personal carbon footprints.

Thanks to the simple integration into your existing systems, data collection is seamlessly integrated into your internal processes. This creates a reliable and continuously updated basis on which you can optimise your carbon footprint effectively and with data support.

Where does the data come from and how are the emissions calculated?

CO₂ emissions are calculated on the basis of extensive data sources and recognised calculation principles. Our CO₂ calculator uses reliable data from various sectors to enable a precise and realistic calculation of your company's emissions.

What are the data sources?

Company-specific information: We collect specific data about your company, such as energy consumption, business trips, vehicle use and waste generation. This information is entered directly by you or can be provided in the form of annual reports.

Publicly available data: For general emission values (such as emission factors for electricity or fuels), we draw on industry-recognised data sources such as the GHG protocols (Greenhouse Gas Protocol) or national and international climate protection standards.

Login area for recurring calculations

Use the integrated login area to save your entries securely. This allows you to access your data at any time, adjust it if necessary and reuse it directly next year - ideal for annual CO₂ balances and continuous improvements.

FAQ

What are Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions?

Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions are categories for categorising greenhouse gas emissions.

  • Scope 1 (direct emissions):
Emissions that arise directly from a company's own sources, for example from the combustion of fuels in the company's own facilities or vehicles.

  • Scope 2 (indirect emissions from energy purchases):
Emissions resulting from the purchase of purchased energy such as electricity, heat or steam, even if these are not generated directly within the company.

  • Scope 3 (other indirect emissions):
Emissions that occur along a company's entire value chain but do not belong to Scope 1 or 2. These include, for example, emissions from the supply chain, business travel, use of products sold or waste.

How accurate are the calculations?

The accuracy of the calculations depends largely on the quality and completeness of the data you enter. The more specific and company-specific your information is, the more precise the result of the carbon footprint will be.

The myclimate company calculator is based on scientifically recognised calculation approaches and uses current, verified emission factors from reliable data sources such as the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), national authorities or industry-specific studies. Where no exact consumption data is available, transparent and proven estimation methods are used, which are regularly reviewed and further developed by our experts.

Is use of the myclimate corporate client calculator free of charge?

Yes, many central functions of the myclimate company calculator are available to you free of charge. This enables small and medium-sized companies in particular to easily get started with carbon accounting - without any financial hurdles. For further requirements - such as detailed analyses, company-specific advice, industry-specific adaptations or integration into your internal systems - additional optional, chargeable services are available. These are individually tailored to your needs and supported by our experts.
